BioHormones education
A plain-language guide to what key hormones do, why midlife shifts feel systemic, and how Tri-Health evaluates them before considering BHRT.

Core players
Influences cycles, temperature regulation, vaginal/skin health, bone, and mood/cognition patterns.
Balances estrogen effects in cycling women; relevant to sleep, calm, and cycle regularity conversations.
In women and men: energy, libido, muscle, and motivation — interpreted in clinical context, not isolation.
Often cross-checked because fatigue, weight, and mood overlap with hormone symptoms.
Chronic stress can amplify midlife symptoms; lifestyle and recovery matter alongside labs.
Insulin, lipids, and body composition help explain why hormones and weight shift together.
How we evaluate

We don’t run every panel “just because.” Testing answers a question: candidacy, dosing, safety monitoring, or differential diagnosis (thyroid, iron, sleep, etc.).
Educational only. Menopause is often clinical; hormone levels fluctuate and do not replace a clinician’s judgment.
