Food Sensitivity Panels (IgG)
IgG Food Screen (120+ Foods, 200+ Foods, and Vegetarian options)
These panels measure IgG antibodies to a large number of common foods (dairy, eggs, fish/seafood, fruits, grains including gluten-containing and gluten-free options, herbs/seasonings, meats, nuts/seeds, legumes, vegetables, yeast, coffee, cocoa, and more). Finger-prick home collection kits are also available for select versions.
Conditions & Clinical Context
Often explored in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)-type symptoms, bloating, alternating bowel habits, chronic fatigue, skin issues (eczema, acne), joint discomfort, brain fog, or multi-system symptoms that have not been fully explained by standard workups. Used as one data point to guide a structured elimination and reintroduction process under practitioner supervision.
Evidence & Legitimacy
Major allergy and immunology organizations (including the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology) state that IgG food testing is not validated for diagnosing food allergy or intolerance and that elevated IgG may simply reflect exposure or tolerance rather than a pathological reaction.
However, more recent research has examined IgG-guided elimination diets specifically in IBS. A 2025 study from Michigan Medicine found that participants following an IgG-based personalized elimination diet experienced greater reductions in abdominal pain compared with those on a sham diet, with stronger effects in IBS-C and mixed subtypes. A 2026 systematic scoping review of 13 studies (935 IBS patients) reported associations with improvements in gastrointestinal symptoms and quality of life, while noting significant methodological limitations, heterogeneity, and the need for higher-quality trials. Risk of overly restrictive diets is a recognized concern.

Allergy Testing (IgE Panels & Individual Allergens)
Inhalant, Food, and Component Panels
Includes multi-allergen panels (inhalant, dairy, egg, fish, seafood, nut, grain, meat, legume, vegetable, fruit) as well as individual IgE tests and the Peanut Component Panel (Ara h 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 9).
Conditions assisted: Suspected IgE-mediated allergies presenting with immediate reactions (hives, swelling, respiratory symptoms, anaphylaxis risk), allergic rhinitis, asthma triggers, and evaluation of specific food allergies. Component testing helps assess the likelihood of severe peanut reactions versus milder or cross-reactive patterns.
Serum-specific IgE testing is a standard, evidence-based tool in allergy diagnosis when interpreted with clinical history. It does not replace oral food challenges when needed, but provides valuable risk stratification and guidance.
Advanced Cardiovascular & Lipid Panels
Cardio Panel, Cardiolipoprotein Add-On, NMR Lipoprofile, ApoB, Lipoprotein(a), hs-CRP
These panels go beyond a standard lipid profile to measure apolipoprotein A and B, lipoprotein(a), high-sensitivity CRP, homocysteine, and (in the NMR option) LDL particle number, size, and an insulin resistance score.
Conditions & risk assessment: Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk stratification, residual risk on statin therapy, family history of early heart disease, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, and unexplained elevated traditional lipids. Helps identify patients who may benefit from more aggressive lifestyle or pharmacologic strategies.
Strong and growing legitimacy. The 2026 AHA/ACC dyslipidemia guidance emphasizes earlier risk assessment and measurement of ApoB and lipoprotein(a). ApoB is recognized as a superior marker of atherogenic particle number compared with LDL-C in many contexts. Lipoprotein(a) is largely genetic; a one-time measurement is increasingly recommended for lifetime risk estimation. hs-CRP adds independent inflammatory risk information. NMR particle data can further refine risk when discordance exists between cholesterol content and particle number.
Hormone Panels
Female Hormone Panels (including PCOS-focused), Male Andropause Panels, Menopausal Panels, Thyroid Panels, and Combined Health & Hormone options
These range from focused thyroid panels (TSH, Free T3, Free T4 ± antibodies ± reverse T3) to broader panels measuring estradiol, estrone, progesterone, FSH, LH, testosterone (total/free), DHEAS, cortisol, SHBG, prolactin, and related markers.
Conditions assisted:
- Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) workup
- Suspected hypogonadism / low testosterone symptoms in men
- Irregular cycles, heavy bleeding, fertility concerns, or perimenopausal symptoms
- Thyroid dysfunction (hypo/hyperthyroidism, Hashimoto’s, conversion issues)
- Adrenal and stress-related hormone patterns
- Unexplained fatigue, libido changes, mood shifts, or body composition changes when clinical suspicion exists
Targeted hormone testing has clear clinical value when guided by symptoms and history (e.g., PCOS diagnostic criteria, male hypogonadism evaluation with morning total/free testosterone + LH/FSH, thyroid antibody testing). However, routine comprehensive “shotgun” hormone panels for diagnosing menopause are generally not recommended by major societies (NAMS and others emphasize clinical diagnosis based on age and symptoms; hormone levels fluctuate and do not reliably guide therapy decisions in typical menopause). At Tri-Health, panels are selected based on specific clinical questions rather than ordered indiscriminately.
Nutrient, Methylation & Inflammation Panels
Nutrient Panel / Nutrient Panel Plus, Methylation Panel, Inflammation Panel, Fatigue Panel, Iron/Anemia Panel
These evaluate key vitamins (A, B1, B6, B12, C, D, E, folate), minerals (zinc, copper, magnesium, calcium, etc.), homocysteine, iron studies, ferritin, hs-CRP, ESR, fibrinogen, and related markers of nutritional status and low-grade inflammation.
Conditions assisted: Fatigue, suspected nutrient deficiencies (especially in restrictive diets, malabsorption, or high metabolic demand), methylation concerns, cardiovascular risk (homocysteine), anemia workups, chronic low-grade inflammation, recovery support, and monitoring of repletion strategies.
Measurement of vitamin D, B12, folate, iron studies, and magnesium is well-established in both conventional and integrative care. Homocysteine is a recognized marker linked to cardiovascular and neurological risk when elevated. hs-CRP is an accepted independent risk factor for cardiovascular events. These panels are particularly useful when symptoms, dietary patterns, or gastrointestinal issues raise suspicion of insufficiency or inflammation.
Celiac & Selected GI Panels
Celiac Disease Panel & Celiac Screening Panel
Includes tissue transglutaminase (tTG) IgA/IgG, deamidated gliadin antibodies, and total IgA (to check for IgA deficiency that could cause false negatives).
Conditions assisted: Evaluation of suspected celiac disease, unexplained iron deficiency, chronic diarrhea, bloating, dermatitis herpetiformis, or autoimmune screening in at-risk individuals. Important to test while the patient is still consuming gluten.
Highly legitimate and guideline-supported. Serologic testing for celiac disease has good sensitivity and specificity when properly ordered and interpreted, though biopsy remains the gold standard for confirmation in most cases.
Metabolic, Glucose-Insulin & Weight-Related Panels
Glucose-Insulin Tolerance, Weight Loss & Energy Panel, Weight Loss with Hormones, Healthy Metabolic Panels, Naturopath Profiles
These combine glucose, insulin (fasting and post-challenge), HbA1c, lipids, liver/kidney markers, hormones, inflammation markers, and nutrient status to evaluate metabolic health comprehensively.
Conditions assisted: Insulin resistance, prediabetes, metabolic syndrome, difficulty losing weight, PCOS-related metabolic issues, energy crashes, and monitoring of lifestyle or therapeutic interventions aimed at metabolic optimization.
Fasting insulin, HOMA-IR (derived), and oral glucose tolerance testing with insulin are widely used to detect insulin resistance earlier than glucose alone. Combining metabolic, inflammatory, and hormonal markers provides a more complete picture than isolated glucose or lipid testing and aligns with current understanding of cardiometabolic risk.
Trace Metal & Element Panels
Essential, Toxic, and Total Element Panels (Plasma, RBC, or Urine)
Assess levels of essential minerals (zinc, copper, selenium, manganese, chromium, etc.) and potentially toxic metals (lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, aluminum, thallium, nickel, etc.).
Conditions assisted: Evaluation of possible heavy metal burden (occupational, environmental, or dietary exposure), unexplained neurological or fatigue symptoms, monitoring of detoxification protocols, and assessment of key mineral status that can affect thyroid, immune, and metabolic function.
Blood, RBC, and urine metal testing is standard in occupational and environmental medicine for documented exposures. In integrative settings these panels are used more broadly; interpretation requires careful consideration of specimen type, timing, and clinical context, as results can be influenced by recent intake or excretion patterns.
